So, I purchased this corolla about a year ago, 1987 hatch sr5, with the plan to do a gts conversion. So far I ve done some work to the car: changed the oem bumpers for some jdm trueno bumpers. They look great on the car!!!
However, something that I really want to change is the tranny. This particular sr5 came with an auto. That really sucks, I dont like automatic cars. They are soooooo boring to drive, specially if you are an ae86 owner. You cant whip the rear end of a corolla with an auto trans...or at least hard to do.
So changing the tranny is at the top of the to do list, then I really want to get a 4age with a carb set up(the sound of a carb'ed 4age si so sweet). For the moment I do not have the funds to do it, so I am just being patient with the project.
1/3/08...Just recently I've had a change of mind on the engine swap I want to do. I know most hard core corolla lovers out there, they want to keep theirs cars 100% Toyota. But, I am not there yet. I know blacktop, blue top etc. they all look great in the engine bay...but for some reason I want to see a f20c engine from the Honda s2000.
I have seen a couple of ae86 with the swap, it looks great, although it involves quite a bit of work to put it in the bay. But that's just me letting my mind go wild with the car.
